Oh my God! Is this Russell Hoban who wrote the Frances books?? *checks Wikipedia* IT IS. Frances was my jam when I was a wee lass. Or perhaps I should say my bread and jam... Bread and Jam for Frances was probably my favorite Frances book, although Best Friends for Frances was also delightful (the picnic they take on their expedition!) and really all the books have something to recommend them.

Ahem. Anyway, I had not realized that he had written anything but Frances, but looking at his Wikipedia it appears that he wrote Many Things. Including Riddley Walker! Who knew!

Also very excited on general principle that you have reached The Final Nine. Does finishing Riddley Walker mean that you're now down to The Final Eight?
