Ok, now I'm curious: What was the most mediocre by-the-numbers piece of fluff you've EVER read? (or have you forgotten it?)
I'm sure some things are lost in translation - it's hard to say how much, though! Sadly, this probably won't be the book that prompts me to learn German.
