Michel could certainly have solved a lot of his problems, if not 100%, by sticking with the bank job and getting up an hour earlier every morning to write poetry. Or even every other morning! But I have to say I found his intense youthful curmudgeonliness entertaining, even if he would have frustrated me greatly if he were a real person.
